We strongly believe in the power of Media and Journalism in bringing about a shift in mindsets and the ability to influence thinking and lifestyle. Today, we’re at the brink of collapse, as our planet will soon be out of resources as a result of our unsustainable lifestyle, creating a is a strong need for information sharing and collaborative action.
Environment Press is the platform where people can share their stories, ideas and experiences with the world and inspire people with their action – A voice of hope for the Environmentally Pressed world.
What is Environment Press?
Environment press is a Online News Portal, where people can hop in to find out about the latest info on what going on in the city and the region at large on issues related to environment and susainability, and how they can be a part of the change.
These reports will be first hand experiences of our youth journalists who will use blogs, photographs videos and audios to tell their personal stories that others can connect with.
We will have 4 sections:
News – We will concentrate more on local and regional news (Kolkata centric), and important national news. Once this portal grows, I would like to include other regional chapters including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Upcoming Events – This column will contain details of various seminars, conferences, public meetings, rallys, workshops, etc related to climate change where people can participate.
Lifestyle – We will do inspiring feature story on people who have already shifted to a more sustainable way of living and share their experiences.
Education – We will do career profiles of people working with the Environment and sustainability – from NGOs, Govt, Corporate, etc and address the growing need for more info on green jobs.
Whats the USP?
- We’re not giving people news, but personalized stories of experiences and anecdotes that people can connect with, something that has the scope to evoke emotions of joy and sorrows, successes and failures.
- A lot of people get concerned when they read environmental stories, but don’t know how to participate in the movement. By providing regular information on what’s happening in the climate space, we fill in that gap.
- There are NO environmental News Portals in India that do exclusive environmental stories and highlight initiatives by different grass-root NGOs.
Other Services we provide
We provide different services to NGOs and other organizations working in the Environmental Sphere -
1. Videos/Documentary – We have made documentaries for other environmental organizations including – Switch ON, Environmental News Trust, Project Survival Media including – Why New Coal, The Rising Tide, Coal Fires in Jharia, Bihar Floods Vs Climate Change, etc. These can be viewed in our Videos section.
2. Advertisements – If you are working on issues related to environmental and sustainability, and are looking for a place to promote your venture to the like-minded, this is the space for you.
3. Promotion – We promote different events through new media tools including – facebook, twitter, youtube, etc and traditional media – print, radio and tv.
